After an IT architecture is defined, one of the possible uses for the architecture is to consult with stakeholders. The aim of this consultation is two-fold: to provide feedback to them on the defined architecture, and to solicit input from them on the IT architecture.
Work Breakdown Structure
Purpose
The purpose of consulting with stakeholders (not involved in the creation of the IT architecture) is to:
Educate these stakeholders on the architecture;
Solicit feedback from them on the IT architecture;
Provide information to them on optimizations and other findings;
Clarify and define priorities moving forward.
Description
After an IT architecture is defined and analyzed, it is then used to consult with stakeholders. This consultation
should take place in multiple fora:
Technical level reviews with technical stakeholders;
Business level (and non-technical manager) stakeholders;
The consultations done will likely be based upon the level of the IT architecture defined and referenced. For example,
Technical Perspective will be of more interest to technical stakeholders and operations people. One the other hand, if all
three levels are defined, the consultation will focus on the level appropriate for the stakeholder audience.
